What We Do
We strive to:
- Raise awareness and understanding of the climate and nature emergencies.
- Build capacity for individuals and organisations to take action to mitigate and adapt to climate change and biodiversity loss.
Through our efforts, we support people in:
- Reducing their carbon footprint via diet, energy use, or transportation changes.
- Joining campaigns for broader change.
- Having meaningful conversations about climate issues.
- Processing distress and anxiety related to climate and ecological crises.
Engagement Activities
Our events and activities include:
- Nature craft activities for children and adults.
- Eye-catching installations and displays about climate and nature crises.
- Vegan bakes and tasters to promote plant-based diets.
- Information, quizzes, and practical “top tips.”
- Great Green Reads/library and book swaps.
- Upcycling/recycling clothes swaps.
- Campaigns to support.
- 1-2-1 conversation spaces.
We regularly collaborate with other eco-focused groups. For example, our Springtime Assembly in March 2024, hosted at Bath Assembly Rooms with the support of the National Trust, featured 12 other organisations and displays for others unable to attend in person.
Aims and Objectives
Our charitable objectives, as defined in our constitution, are:
To promote the conservation, protection, and improvement of the environment in Bath and North East Somerset for the public benefit by providing education, information, advice, and support on climate and ecological issues and sustainable living.
Short-Term Goals:
- Expand our audience through social media, our website, and our new physical space.
- Offer a programme of events, talks, and workshops.
- Create safe spaces for climate anxiety discussion groups.
- Strengthen existing networks by hosting events and encouraging communications.
